I will be present from 14 - 17 pm and also talking about my new work during the guided English tour of KUNSTHOCH Luzern between 15.20 and 15.50 pm.

“Please Tell Me Some Good News Today” is a response to the constant flood of headlines and information that compete for our attention every day, as well as to a hyperstimulated social media world and its staged realities.

In doing so, I shift the focus away from the constant stream of current events and towards my own perception of my immediate surroundings – towards everyday gestures and fleeting moments that are easily overlooked. To capture these fleeting “millimoments”, I use my iPhone’s camera. The very low resolution of my older model is not only a practical choice, but also a conscious departure from the omnipresent perfection of digital images and from the notion of what is supposedly considered a “good picture”.

Time is an important factor in my working process. I repeatedly return to my analogue and digital image archive, allowing time to pass between each viewing. Individual images resurface and begin to emerge from the larger body of work. Through this recurring process, I discover which photographs continue to hold significance for me and which I choose to pursue further.
